Best time ever. We loved having this experience without traveling a distance. It was amazing. They cooked right there in front of us. So much fun. We loved all the food. It was so tasty. Can’t wait to go again.

The lunch menu was full sized and delicious. The sushi was very good. Service was excellent, restaurant clean and comfortable. I had the teriyaki beef and it was absolutely delicious. It came with onion soup, the flavor was out of this world. If I lived in Carlsbad I'd make Tokyo a weekly lunch spot.

What a brilliant find in Carlsbad! The food is delicious: we had the teriyaki salmon, edamame, tempura shrimp, and a shrimp roll. The decor is very comfy with red and black notes, and the restaurant is very spacious. The price is very affordable and makes this place a well-visited dining spot. We will definitely come back here!

I had never been to a restaurant were the food was prepared in front of me! It was delicious, but the scallops I had were not the best, (they were still pretty decent). I enjoyed seeing the skill of the chef and the server was able to see the needs of everyone at the grill with considerable aptitude!

Sushi was pretty good. I gave a 4 because the seaweed was super fishy. Onion soup starter was great with little crispy onions. Tuna sushi was huge pieces. Spicy tuna roll had a great flavor with a crispy outer coating. Vegetable roll was good, but seaweed was too fishy. Service was great.
